The Michigan Blackboard Users Group was organized by Donna Wicks from Kettering University back in 2002. Since then, we have come together every year to help and support each other while sharing best practices in leveraging Blackboard to advance teaching and learning.

This year, over 80 faculty and staff were registered to attend from 18 different institutions around the state and Canada.

The conference will feature a Blackboard Product Roadmap keynote session by Lawrence Pearson , Customer Success Advocate, Blackboard Inc. highlighting the latest and greatest from Blackboard including: Bb Learn 2015 (Ultra) and Collaborate 2015 (Project Apollo).  

Lawrence Pearson Biography:
A 25 year veteran of the modern and post modern information technology evolution that spans two centuries. Part of his information technology journey included 18 years service with Blackboard products and services. Lawrence has a Masters in Education and Business Administration along with a Project Manager Professional certification. He has had several roles in higher education including being a faculty member, IT Director, IT Learning System Architect, Blackboard System Administrator and Student. Lawrence, along with all Customer Success Advocates, focus on faculty adoption and engagement, student success, managing account relationships and internal client advocacy.

Keynote Session Description:
Technology evolves faster than we can master it. Blackboard is working on the next evolution of the online learning environment by not being a learning management system but a holistic solution. The near future release of Blackboard Learn 2015 and Collaborate 2015 will be the most significant step forward in the ever evolving educational technologies. This session will demonstrate the future of Blackboard’s Learn and Collaborate solutions.

Parking for miBUG attendees will be in the Fulton Lot with overflow to Watson Lot. There is a parking attendant in the Fulton Lot who can direct you to overflow if it is needed. The Fulton Lot does not require a parking pass.
